My name is Callie Counterman and I am the owner and the founder of Mooch Lactation. I constantly hear phrases like, “I wish I had you at 1 am last night when I needed your help! ” and, “If only we could have afforded a lactation consultant when my kids were little!” These two common phrases are exactly why Mooch Lactation Co. was created!
I left my corporate job in 2014 to stay at home with my first son but after a few years I began feeling a tug back into the workforce. I accepted a few odd jobs, one being in the postpartum unit in Austin’s largest hosptial. It was there that I discovered (and fell in love with) the field of Lactation. After some soul searching and much needed planning, I began my studies in 2017 and the rest is “herstory.”
I am now the Mother of 2 crazy boys Wyatt (10) and Walker (7) and when I am not playing chauffeur to all things sports, I am home on our rescue farm spending time with wine on the porch or laughing with family.
Who We Are
When I was day dreaming about my own business I knew I wanted to provide 24/7 support for families and also be able to work from home, since I am a single parent I need a flexible schedule. When you choose Mooch for your lactation support you aren’t just choosing a business off Google, or an Ad from a search bar. You’re choosing a small woman-owned business and you’re helping me make a difference in the lives of so many Mothers who otherwise may not have support. Every Friday we offer $20 consults in an attempt to serve all families in our community, not just the working families, or those with insurance. See, you really are supporting the dream. My dream. And for that, I am eternally grateful.
Your breastfeeding journey should be one you enjoy, and with me I’ll work until it is. Helping families breast/chest/bottle feed is my life’s work and I am passionate about providing consistent, thorough and individualized care. In addition to our private services, we partner with a third party company who translates in over 240+ languages because at Mooch we believe lactation care should be inclusive and with us, it always will be!
